Never having used iPhoto before (our photo archive setup predates our switch to OS X by a few years) I hadn't considered checking what it would do with the iPhone and indeed, when it's running and you hook up the iPhone you can import the photos in their full (1600x1200) glory as opposed to the 640x480 size that is used to email someone. I can then exit iPhoto and grab the originals in Pictures/iPhoto Library/Originals/... if I want to.

Thanks!

You don't want to email them, apparently the iPhone reduces them in size (680x480?) and in the process removes the EXIF information. Instead, when you open iPhoto, you'll see the iPhone photos on an icon there that you can copy from. You can also sync photos from iPhoto to the iPhone -- I have a folder called wallpapers that I use for that.

I don't think you're missing anything. I've heard elsewhere that they won't sync back to iTunes, so with no MMS on the thing, outbound E-Mail is the only remaining contestant.

Do I have too many feeds/mailing lists subscribed or what? ;)
