It looks like installing Spam Karma is paying off, given that in two weeks it has blocked over 150 spam comments and back-track attempts and I didn’t have to do anything for it, while regular commenters were, as far as I’m aware, not scared off by it in any way. 🙂

  1. Sort of related, but I keep getting a bunch of comments that look something like this: “Nice (link to google dot com/b78y or something similar)site(end link)! Good job!”

    And I have no idea what the purpose behind them is. I mean, if the link pointed to a valid URL I could see why, but it doesn’t.

  2. Yes, I’m not quite sure what the deal is with those comments & links either. The only thing I can figure (without research) is that they’re trying to trigger a lot of referrer hits at Google. If I find out what it might really be I’ll post a note about it. 🙂
